Reasons I Choose Recovery
I want to know what it feels like to love myself for once. I deserve to know.
I don`t want to waste another 10 years trapped by my shitty relationship with food.
I`ve spent the last 4-5 years drunk, high, or both. I want to be present in my own life.
Good health is a privilege, not a right. I don`t want to take my body for granted anymore.
There is so much more to me than my weight and my disorder.
Confidence and self-love is sexier than the number on the scale or measuring tape.
I want to glow on my wedding day.
Building muscle feels AMAZING!
Despite what the toxic mantras want people to believe, there`s no point in destroying myself for the sake of weight loss if the only end result is me fitting into a smaller casket.
Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.
We honor the lives lost.
We support those who are grieving.
We fight for those still struggling.
💜 Addiction is not a moral failure. It’s a health issue. And it’s time the world treated it like one.
If you’ve lost someone, share their name below. Let’s speak their names out loud, and hold space for their memory together.

Grief is part of the recovery journey too.
Whether it’s the loss of a person, a past version of yourself, or time lost to addiction - your grief is valid.
On National Grief Awareness Day, we hold space for the complicated emotions that don’t always have words.
💜 Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means honoring, processing, and finding your way forward - one day at a time.

MYTH: You have to hit rock bottom to get help.
TRUTH: You can reach out at any point. Recovery doesn’t have a starting line, it starts when you’re ready.
Whether you’re struggling silently or already in motion, support is here. You don’t have to wait to fall apart to begin healing. 💜

How has your definition of ‘strength’ changed in recovery?
At one point, strength may have meant staying silent, holding it all in, or pushing through pain.
Now, it might look like asking for help. Taking a rest. Letting yourself feel.
That shift is healing. That shift is power.
💬 Share what strength means to you now.

When I feel overwhelmed, I can remind myself of…
Not everything needs to be solved right now.
Sometimes, writing it out is the first step to breathing easier.
